WEB SPORTS EXCLUSIVE--Vinson Commits To LMU

By Brandy L. Simms

Former Montrose Christian standout Terrell Vinson, who transferred from the Rockville private school to St. Frances Academy in Baltimore earlier this year, has verbally committed to play college basketball at Loyola Marymount.

Vinson, a highly touted senior who had been a staple of the Montrose Christian basketball program since his freshman campaign, chose the West Coast Conference school over a host of Division I college programs including Georgetown, Villanova, Duke, Maryland and Texas.

"Vinson is a half court small forward that has worked hard at becoming more of a perimeter player," said i95ballerz.com Publisher Ron Bailey. "Initially, the Baltimore resident was a power forward, and as such excelled in playing around the hoop. Currently, Vinson is able to hit jumpers out to three ball range, attack the rim out of face up position, and fill lanes and finish in fast break situations."

As a junior, the 6-foot-7 Division I prospect averaged 18.3 points per game and helped lead the Mustangs to a 21-4 record. "Terrell brings Loyola Marymount considerable work ethic, skill set and desire to win," said Bailey.
