BETHESDA - Montgomery County-Montgomery County Fire and Rescue pulled an unresponsive woman from the chilly waters of the Potomac River last Friday.
The woman was taken to Suburban Hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department identified the woman as 53 year old Karjia Jiang. Jiang is from China and was visiting relatives in Great Falls, Virginia.
Before Jiang was found in the river she told her family she was going for a walk in Great Falls National Park. Police are unsure how or where Jiang entered the water. Jiang’s death is considered undetermined, but no foul play is suspected.
Police are asking anyone with information on how and where Jiang entered the Potomac River is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
