Police investigate Potomac bank robbery

The FBI and Montgomery County Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a M&T Bank in Potomac.
January 27 police were called to the M&T Bank at 10100 River Road in Potomac for the report of a bank robbery by a single suspect.
Police say a white male between 6’0” and 6’1”with a medium to heavy build entered the bank and approached a teller displaying a gun. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot towards River Road.
The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a gray urban camouflage colored baseball hat, gloves, black scarf, white tyvek type jacket and pants, and a white plastic mask covering his face. He was also carrying an umbrella during the robbery.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect to call the Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section at 240-773-5100. Callers who want to remain anonymous can call Crimes Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS. Crime Solvers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and/or indictment.
