Montrose Christian will be among eight nationally ranked boys’ high school basketball teams competing next month in the fifth annual National High School Invitational at Georgetown Prep’s Hanley Center.
In addition to Nevada’s Findlay Prep, the defending tournament champion, this year’s field features teams from seven different states including Florida, Texas, New Jersey and Indiana.
For the first time in tournament history, every team is ranked in the ESPN 25 Power Rankings including six in the top 10.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to play against some of the best teams in the country,” said Montrose Christian head coach Stu Vetter.
The teams include Monteverde Academy, St. Benedict’s Prep and Oak Hill Academy among others.
The Mustangs will open up the tournament against Findlay Prep, the nation’s top-ranked high school team, on April 4th at 6pm.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to play them and represent the Washington, D.C. area,” said Vetter.
