State prosecutor clears BOE of any wrongdoing

BOETableLarge20131218 1ROCKVILLE- After a two-month investigation, the Maryland State Prosecutor’s Office has cleared the Montgomery County Board of Education of any criminal misconduct in the credit card misuse controversy. In a letter to MCPS, state prosecutor Emmet Davitt officially closed the investigation, commending the BOE for changes to its reimbursement policy.


Another lawsuit launched against City of Rockville

100 dollar billsROCKVILLE - Former contractor CFI Construction is suing the city of Rockville for more than $150,000 after claiming the city refused to pay for extra work done on the Rockville Senior Center. After a 10 percent markup, CFI is asking for $154,360. Attorneys for the city of Rockville estimate the delay cost it $400 a day in damages.


School bus monitoring continues in county

One of the most familiar sights of the school year is a bright yellow bus pulling to the side of a neighborhood street, flashing its red lights and extending its “stop arm,” a red stop sign connected to the bus’ left side, as students board or climb off.
