The last chance of local residents to register to vote is June 5 if they wish to vote in the primary election. The deadline to update voters’ home addresses or party affiliations or to request a more-accessible polling place is also June 5, less than three weeks away.
To vote in the primaries, residents who are eligible to vote but not registered, including 17-year-olds who will turn 18 by Nov. 6, the date of the General Election, must register to vote by June 5.
Paul Geller (Democrat)
At-large candidate Geller, a former president of the Montgomery County Council of Parent Teacher Associations, said he wants to take his experience of building relationships and with the schools system to the County Council.
After a term-limit referendum passed in November keeping County Council members to three consecutive terms, a new crop of candidates have filed to run for County Council.
With three of the four of the atlarge Council members – George Leventhal, Nancy Floreen and Marc Elrich – term limited, new candidates have declared their candidacy to fill the soon-to-be vacant seats for the June 2018 primary.
