ROCKVILLE – The Magruder varsity girls basketball team had a rough practice a few days before opening their postseason Friday at home against Blake.
Colonels head coach Kashauna Cook said her team learned how to persevere during that difficult practice that involved running sprints for over an hour.
Cook’s team test couldn’t have come at a better time. Magruder’s newfound perseverance was tested against a third quarter Blake surge that saw the Bengals pull within one point.
However, the Colonels refused to be ‘one and done’ in the playoffs and held on to beat Blake 57-46.
