OLNEY – Senior Night was supposed to be a celebratory evening for the Good Counsel girls varsity basketball team.

The Falcons hoped to honor their six seniors and close out the regular season on a high note by grabbing a win Friday night at the Kane Center.

The Mustangs of Bishop McNamara, however, had other plans.

The squad from Forestville built on an early lead and finished strong, defeating Good Counsel 64-55.

OLNEY – Good Counsel simply had no answer for Paul VI’s talented frontline of senior Mikayla Vaughn and junior Amira Collins.

The dynamic duo scored a combined 40 points Friday night to lead the Panthers to a convincing 71-45 road victory over Washington Catholic Athletic Conference rival Good Counsel at Kane Center.

“We play together as a team,” said Collins, a Tennessee commit who finished with a game-high 21 points. “That’s the best thing you can ask for.”
