“When she came out here last year as an eighth grader,” recalled Bullis head coach Shawn Kane, “we knew we were going to have something special when she got to ninth grade.”

Simon, 15, emerging as one of the area’s top golfers in just her first high school season, gave a remarkable performance Monday against Washington Catholic Athletic Conference contender Good Counsel.

POTOMAC – Bullis junior quarterback Tucker Strachan clinched a 14-7 victory for the Bulldogs against Georgetown Prep Friday with a one-yard touchdown run during the final two minutes of the season finale.

Bullis (7-3 overall, 4-1 IAC) ended the season in second place in the Interstate Athletic Conference standings.

Episcopal (8-0) won the conference while Georgetown Prep (7-3, 3-2) placed third.

"I'm confident the kids gave everything they had," said Georgetown Prep Head Coach Dan Paro. "You just don't like losing to Bullis. It's very disappointing. I think these kids played at a high level this year and they just weren't able to finish it out."
