“We have seven talented seniors that have been in the program for a long time so we wanted to celebrate them,” said Bullis head coach Kathleen Lloyd, “and the girls were really pumped up for the game to celebrate and they just played really well as a team.”

The Watkins Mill Wolverines varsity boys lacrosse team overcame an early deficit en route to a 6-3 victory Friday over the Wheaton Knights.

After a scoreless first quarter, JC Garay netted a goal with 10:28 remaining in the second period to put the Knights ahead, 1-0.

However, Watkins Mill received consecutive goals from Joseph Clark, Chris Crews and Selom Kalin-Samlan to take a 3-1 lead early in the third quarter.

“Winning on Senior Night is always huge,” said Watkins Mill head coach Max Bero. “I feel like we were playing a little distracted at the beginning and I like that we were able to at least maintain the aggressiveness. We didn’t let the distraction get in our head. We didn’t let the fact that Wheaton scored early get in our head. We were able to keep pushing and push past that to find success in the third quarter.”
