Green Party candidate files for County Council at-Large

BETHESDA – Green Party candidate Tim Willard of Kensington has filed with the County Board of Elections to run for the County Council at Large in 2018.

“I’m running on a platform of sustainability,” Willard said. “We have start planning an end to growth, it’s getting expensive, and we have to figure out how we go into the future,” he added.

McNulty seeks Gaithersburg Council seat

GAITHERSBURG -- James McNulty, a longtime TV media marketing worker, found himself at the center of a national news story in 2010 when he was one of three people taken hostage at Discovery Communications in Silver Spring by a lone gunman.

It changed his life, he said, and his mission became to do good for others. That’s why he’s vying for a City Council seat, he said.

GOP presidential debate long on rhetoric, short on substance

The second Republican presidential candidates debate, conducted on CNN, focused more on each candidate responding to slights hurled by the other candidates than on what and, more importantly, how the candidates would address the serious issues facing this country. In a nutshell, the debate was more rhetoric with little substance, but a great deal of Ronald Reagan name-dropping and an awful lot of "dump on Trump," the front-runner.
