Federal jury convicts Germantown man

gavel2A Germantown man was convicted Thursday in U.S. District court in Greenbelt by a federal jury on five counts related to a sex-trafficking case and one count of witness and evidence tampering.
But the jury acquitted Jean Claude Roy, 31, of 12100 block of Brittania Circle in Germantown of sex trafficking by force and of weapons offenses.

Rockville residents complain

400-1910.gallery large 1.web 1ROCKVILLE- At Monday night’s city council meeting Rockville citizens brought their concerns about the lack of pay increases for the Rockville City Police to the council and mayor. During the community forum held before the fiscal 2015 budget was presented, several residents voiced their support for the city police officers with the hope that the police would be included in the budget.

Rockville budget under scrutiny

414665 114288788735993 983164528 oROCKVILLE- In the $116.8 million city operating budget, there are no step increases noted for Rockville City Police officers. In the budget, all regular city employees will receive a two percent cost of living adjustment (COLA) and a one time performance based bonus. The city police department has not received a raise since 2010.
