Ms. Lucille Nestler of Wheaton, Md., 92
Ms. Lucille Nestler of Wheaton, Md., 92, passed away on January 4 at her son’s home in Brunswick, Md. She loved her family as well as gardening, cooking for others, and teaching neighborhood children to cook and crochet. After her retirement from NIH at 65, she volunteered well into her 70s at Self Help for the Hard of Hearing and at the Audubon Society.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles Richard Nestler in 1966, and by her grandson David Manifold in 1996.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sandra (Sunny) Nestler, and her granddaughter, Staci Nestler. They cared for Mom with great love, in their home, the last four years of her life. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and John Manifold; her remaining grandson and his wife, Brad and Emilie Manifold and her great-grandchildren, Finn and Sloan Manifold. In addition she leaves behind Jack Golomb, her very dear friend and companion of many years, and nieces and nephews and their families mostly in eastern Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County (hospiceoffrederick.org) or Dogs for the Deaf (dogsforthedeaf.org).
