National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade
This weekend, become part of one of Washington’s most exciting traditions-the 2010 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.
The parade runs along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, NW, and will be featured in a live simulcast on ABC 7/ WJLA-TV and NewsChannel 8.
Giant colorful balloons, marching bands, and performers will burst down Constitution Avenue in an energy-filled spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
Tickets: Prime viewing grandstand seats are now on sale; standing elsewhere along the parade route (Constitution Avenue between 9th and 15th streets, NW) is free and open to the public.
Transportation: Take Metro to Navy Memorial on the Yellow/Green lines or Federal Triangle on the Blue/Orange lines.
50th Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival
The Japan-America Society of Washington, D.C. presents the nation’s largest Japanese street festival, stretching for six blocks through the district.
From sushi to origami, from sumo to sake. Japanese arts and crafts and products of all kinds—anime, manga and J-POP music. Traditional dances and dramatic taiko drums. If it’s Japanese, it’s at our Festival!

Time: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: Pennsylvania Ave. between 14th and 10th streets; and 12th Street between Pennsylvania & Constitution avenues.
Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-Mile Run and 5K Run-Walk
Ten Mile Run, 5K Run-Walk, and 1K Kids Run passing by Washington’s famous monuments and cherry trees during the city’s prettiest time of year.
World-class runners compete for $40,000 in prize money and lead over 12,000 others.
