Special Olympics volunteer needed
On March 1, there will be a volunteer fair at Northern Point High School in Charles County from 1 to 6 p.m. The Special Olympics organization is looking for a volunteer to staff their table so that people will understand what they are all about and the people will be able to let others know what volunteer opportunities there are in the community. All students and their parents are invited to attend this free event, so it is necessary to have someone who would be interested in staffing a table for the Special Olympics. Please get in touch with George Hoehl at 301-589-0307 or 301-213-1537 or email ghoehl@hotmail.com to volunteer or get more information. All necessary information will be provided at the fair.
Healthy snacking
Protein bars are the ideal portable snack. You can carry them in your purse or pocket or keep them in the car when you are on the go. However, you must check the calories because many of these bars are very high in calories and will not do any good if you are trying to lose weight.
