‘One Team One Mission’
During Friday’s “One Team One Mission” operation, officers made 66 arrests, recovered three handguns, seized close to 500 grams of crack cocaine and over 300 grams of marijuana. Officers also apprehended three carjacking suspects, two robbery suspects and one burglary suspect.
Glenarden man arrested in double homicide
Marcus Gregory Newman, 27, of the 7900 block of Johnson Avenue in Glenarden, has been arrested in connection with a double homicide that occurred in the 7100 block of East Spring Street in Landover.
Newman was arrested Jan. 22 in the 4800 block of Leroy-Gorham Drive in Fairmount Heights. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is being held on a no bond status. Homicide detectives do not believe this was a random act of violence.
On Jan. 5, at approximately 3:35 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 7100 block of East Spring Street for a report of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims inside of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds
. William Clinkscale Jr., 47, of the 4500 block of C Street, SE , Washington, D.C., and Darrin Leslie McGilvery, 47, of the 400 block of Zelma Avenue in Capitol Heights, were pronounced dead on the scene.
Quick arrest made in homicide on Brightseat Road
Ronald Lawton Neal, 30, has been arrested in connection with the murder of Nathan Ronald Neal that occurred earlier this month in Landover.
Ronald Neal, of the 4400 block of 3rd Street in SE Washington, D.C., surrendered Friday morning at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro. He was arrested on a warrant charging him with second-degree murder, and is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
On Jan. 8, at approximately 1:53 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 1600 block of Brightseat Road for a man down. When patrol officers arrived, they discovered 22-year-old Nathan Ronald Neal of the 2300 block of Minnesota Avenue in SE Washington, D.C., lying on the ground suffering from trauma to his body. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim and suspect are cousins. The homicide occurred as the result of a personal dispute.
