Police arrest Seat Pleasant homicide suspect

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Devin Reginald Burgess, 23, in connection with a homicide that occurred last month in Seat Pleasant.

On June 26 at approximately 12:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 6800 block of Jade Court in Capitol Heights for an assault report.

When patrol officers arrived they discovered the victim, Christopher William Moody, 17, had been assaulted while walking home from the Addison Road Metro station. The victim died from his injuries on June 29 during his admission at a local hospital.

Homicide detectives were able to identify Burgess, of Bladensburg, as a suspect in the case. An arrest warrant was served yesterday charging him with second degree murder. The investigation revealed the murder was the result of a personal dispute between the victim and suspect.

Burgess has been remanded to the custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections, where he is being held on a no-bond status.

Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411 TIPS (8477) or text “PGPD plus your message” to CRIMES (274637) on your cell phone or go to http://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/police/ to submit a tip online.

Police seek missing man

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating a missing 27-year-old male who was last seen leaving the Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly.

At approximately 12 p.m., July 21, James Omandi Osano was discharged from Prince George’s Hospital and was scheduled to be picked up by a family member. As the family member arrived, Osano proceeded to avoid being transported home and walked off from the hospital center. He has not been seen or heard from since.

Osano is described as a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and short black hair. He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a blue polo shirt and black and white shoes. Osano suffers from schizophrenia and is in need of his medication.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s District I Investigative Section at 301-699-2601.
