A vacant District Heights house erupted in flames early Saturday morning, causing an estimated $150,000 damage.
Prince George’s County fire investigators are working to determine the cause.
County firefighters responded to the 2400 block of Marbury Drive just before 5 a.m. They encountered heavy fire coming from the one-story house, said Mark Brady, chief spokesman for Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.
Firefighters attempted several times to attack the fire. Due to the heavy fire conditions, they were forced to evacuate the house and battle the massive blaze from the outside, Brady said.
No injuries were reported, and it took about 30 firefighters 45 minutes to bring the fire under control, officials said.
