Army National Guard Pvt. Karrington Barnes has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Barnes is a 2006 graduate of Potomac High School, Oxon Hill.

Marcus J. Carey graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

The cadet is a student at Morgan State University, Baltimore. He is the son of Betty J. Carey of Utica Place, Springdale. The cadet is a 2006 graduate of Charles Herbert Flowers High School, Springdale.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Mykail Davis graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Bobbi Davis of Mount Zion Blvd., Ellenwood, Ga., and Harry Davis of Lottsford, Largo, Md. Davis is a 2007 graduate of Morrow High School, Ga.

Army Pvt. Tracy N. Shearin has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.    She is the daughter of Tracy Williams-Wilder of Wingo St., High Point, N.C., and sister of Dannielle Shearin-White of 23rd Parkway, Temple Hills.

Shearin is a 2006 graduate of High Point Central High School.
