Prince George’s County homicide detectives are investigating the county’s 53rd homicide of the year that occurred in Lewisdale.
According to Cpl. Maria M. McKinney, spokeswoman for Prince George’s County Police Department, patrol units from the Hyattsville District and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department responded to the intersection of Charleston Place and Drexel Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a reported person shot in the street.
Police officers along with Fire Department personnel located Edwin Alexander Lainez-Noyola, 20, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to identify the suspect or suspects and to establish a motive in this case.
