The B&O’s Ellicott City Station, now celebrating Holiday Festival of Trains for more than 25 years, brings the magic of miniature railroading to life during the holiday season from Friday, Nov. 27 to Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.
The site, which is the oldest railroad station in America and the original terminus of the first 13 miles of commercial track in the country, will have on exhibit a newly custom built, multi-tiered, 360-degree O-scale model train layout.
There will also be in addition to the museum’s permanent HO model train layout, a miniature Thomas the Tank Engine G-scale layout and an N-scale model train layout.
Opening weekend, Victorian Santa will help kick off the holiday season by handing out candy canes to children. Children may drop off letters to Santa in the Station’s Telegraph Office.
Times are: Wednesday - Sunday & Dec. 28 & 29, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Please note: the museum is closed Christmas Eve & Day and New Year’s Day.
Admission prices are: $5 for adults; $4 for seniors (60+); $3 for children (2-12); and free for B&O members.
The museum is located at 2711 Maryland Ave., Ellicott City. For information, visit www.ecborail.org.
