Fatal crash
At approximately 11:32 p.m. July 21, there was a fatal crash that occurred in the 11300 block of William Beans Road. This was a single vehicle crash with one person ejected from the vehicle. William Beans Road was shut down just prior to Woodyard Road.

Police bust Facebook fight
New Carrollton police intervened in a violent fight approximately three weeks ago between two teenage girls on 87th Avenue in New Carrollton, authorities said.
The fight reportedly began because of a post on one of the girls’ Facebook page.
One girl wrote an insult on the other girl’s profile. The girl who was insulted then went to the other girl’s house. Accompanying her was her mother and two young children.
Both girls, whose names have not been released because they are minors, started fighting and wrestling.
Friends of the two girls showed up to participate in the fight. When police arrived, there were approximately 15 people participating in the fight, according to Police Chief David Rice.
After calming the girls, police were able to break up the fight.
