A second suspect was arrested Tuesday and faces murder charges for the December drive-by fatal shooting of a Lewisdale teenager.
Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department Warrant/Fugitive Division arrested Luis Carlos Guzman-Ventura as the suspected gunman in a drive-by shooting that killed Eliezer Reyes on Dec. 5, 2012, near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Sheridan Street in Lewisdale.
The warrant alleged that Guzman-Ventura shot and wounded another male victim during the shooting.
Deputies investigating Guzman-Ventura’s whereabouts were led to a residence in the 19000 block of White Fawn Drive in Petersburg, Va. With the assistance of Chesterfield County (Va.) Police Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Prince George’s County Police Department, Guzman-Ventura with located and apprehended as he attempted to escape through a rear door of the residence.
Guzman-Ventura was transported to the Chesterfield County Police Department and charged as a fugitive from Prince George’s County.
Guzman-Ventura is also charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
