Prince George’s County and University of Maryland police departments are investigating an armed robbery that occurred around 11 p.m. Friday in College Park.
The robbery occurred near the University of Maryland campus, on Lakeland Road near Rhode Island Avenue, according to Prince George’s County Police Department.
Police officials said the three victims were approached from behind by two suspects brandishing handguns. The suspects demanded money and other personal property from two of the victims. The third victim was not robbed.
It is unknown if the victims attend the University of Maryland.
Police said one of the suspects was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and had a silver handgun, while the other was wearing a green coat and held a brown handgun. The men were last seen running east on Lakeland toward the train tracks.
This was the second robbery in 24 hours in College Park. Late Thursday night, a female student was robbed at gunpoint in parking lot KK on campus.
