Raiders rack up 19 wins

Eleanor Roosevelt’s boys’ basketball team squeaks by Bladensburg, 67-63, to earn its 19th win of the season Friday. Malachi Alexander led the Raiders in scoring with 22 points, and Trevor Evans scored in double-figures as well with 16 points. Bladensburg put out a valiant effort against the perennial powerhouse, but fell short to drop its 14th game of the season.

Wise outscores Parkdale

Wise’s boys’ basketball squad knocked off the Parkdale Panthers, 65-49, Friday. Parkdale started off the season strong, but the Panthers have not had a win streak since the eighth week of their previously undefeated season. Micah Till led the charge with a double-double performance — scoring 25 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Justin Sneed also scored in double-figures.

Lady Raiders’ victory streak stays alive

The undefeated Eleanor Roosevelt Lady Raiders blew out Bladensburg, 67-25, Friday night. Kaila Charles led the Raiders in scoring with 14 points. Sandra Okafor and Daria Simmons both scored in double-figures to turn the tide and earn the Raiders’ 16th win.

Gwynn Park dunks Central

Gwynn Park’s girls’ basketball team defeated Central, 79-16, Friday. Central scored the equivalent of its win total this season, while Gwynn Park is positioned in first place. Takayla Ellis had 22 points and pulled down five rebounds to help lead her team to victory. Kache’ Fields had 16 points and six rebounds, and Ashleigh Seegars scored 10 points.
