A man was shot after a carjacking went wrong Saturday in Bladensburg.
The victim was sitting in his vehicle around 8:30 p.m. Saturday when an unidentified suspected brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle, said Sgt. C. Cowling of Bladensburg Police Department.
The victim resisted the robbery and struggled with the suspect for control of the handgun. The suspect discharged the gun, striking the victim multiple times. Then, the suspect fled the scene, police said.
Bladensburg Police patrol units and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department were dispatched just after 8:30 p.m. to the 4800 block of Annapolis Road for the reported shooting.
The victim, in his thirties, was transported to a local trauma center and was listed in stable condition, sources said.
