Maryland-National Capital Park Police along with homicide detectives from the Prince George’s County Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Sunday evening at the Bradbury Recreation Center in Suitland.
Lt. Brian Waters of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police said units from both park police and the Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the scene just before 6 pm.
“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the parking lot of the community center suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead," Waters said.
Hugh Hill, a resident of the area, said he witnessed the event.
“I was walking across the parking lot and I saw two males coming out of the woods they were walking across the parking when they stopped started to argue about some rap song," Hill said. “The next thing I saw was one of thempulled a gun out and stepped back and shot the man four or five times. The guy turned around and ran back into the woods.”
Waters said they believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
