LANGLEY PARK – A shooting late Friday night on 14th Avenue in Langley Park has left a 22-year-old man dead.
Just before 11 p.m. on June 2, police and fire units from Prince George's County responded to a parking lot next to an apartment building in the 8200 block of 14th Avenue for a shooting.
Upon arrival emergency personnel found a man, who police have identified as Carlos Sanchez-Cabrera of Merrimac Drive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Fire officials on the scene said the victim was transported by medicinal unit to the Washington Hospital Center MedStar Unit, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives believe the shooting was not a random act and are working to establish a suspect(s) and motive in this case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the homicide unit at 301-772-4925.
