Police release sketch of victim, seek community help

John Doe1RIVERDALE HEIGHTS – On July 18, detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's homicide unit released a composite sketch of the unidentified homicide victim who was found Sunday in Riverdale Heights.

Investigators are asking for the community’s help in identifying the man so they can notify the family. The victim has no distinguishing marks or tattoos on his body, but is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 35-40.

Early Sunday morning on July 16 around 4 a.m., patrol units from the Prince George's County Police Department, along with units from the county fire department, responded to the 6200 block of 60th Avenue for an unconscious man bleeding in the middle of the street.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel located an adult Hispanic male in his 30s unresponsive and suffering extensive trauma to his body. He was transported to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries, and despite the efforts of doctors, did not survive. His death has been ruled a homicide by the Maryland State Medical Examiner.

On Tuesday, detectives returned to the scene of the shooting, canvassed the area and went door to door asking residents if they knew the victim or if they have any information regarding the homicide.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call the homicide unit at 301-772-4925.
