LANDOVER – It took more than two months, but homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department were able to make an arrest Monday in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Shahim Body Oxon Hill.
Detectives arrested 25-year-old Jarrett Jackson of the 6600 block of Highgate Drive in Fort Washington and 28-year-old Jarrell Jackson of the 2400 block of W Rosecroft Village Circle in Oxon Hill.
Just after 8:30 p.m. on June 6, patrol units from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to the 5200 block of Leverett Street in the Glassmanor community of Oxon Hill for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located Body in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. County paramedics transported Body to a trauma center, but doctors were unable to save him. He died several hours later.
According to court records, the fatal shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Jarrell Jackson, Jarrett Jackson and Body. Both Jacksons are charged with first-degree murder and related charges and are in custody of the department of corrections on a no-bond status.
