Police make arrest in relation to 16-year-old cold case

antwangreenLANDOVER – It took 16 years, but detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's cold case unit have made an arrest in a 2001 homicide that happened at an apartment complex in Temple Hills.

Detectives arrested 36-year-old Antwan Green of the 400 block of Evans Ridge Terrace in Leesburg, Va. in connection with a homicide of 24-year-old Taj Noble of Reston,Va.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 9, 2001, emergency personnel from County police and fire departments were called to the 3400 block of Brinkley Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they located Noble in a field suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

“Based on information from a witness that we had to track down, they were able to provide us with more pieces of the puzzle that enabled us to make the arrest,” said Detective Bernard Nelson of the cold case unit.

Detectives believe the fatal shooting may have stemmed from a dispute over money.

“We are also looking at other suspects in connection with this homicide,” Nelson said. “I believe we will be arresting more suspects in this homicide case.”

Green has been charged with first and second-degree murder along with other charges. He is currently in custody in Fairfax County on unrelated charges.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to please call our homicide unit at 301-772-4925.
