Fire at Adelphi thrift store ruled arson

adelphifireADELPHI – Fire Investigators from the Prince George's County Fire Department have ruled an early Friday morning fire at an Adelphi thrift store arson.

The fire was reported just after midnight last Friday in the 2200 block of University Boulevard at the Value Village Thrift Store.

When fire units arrived on the scene they reported several furniture items outside the store on fire with extension to the top section of the 40,000 square-foot store. According to fire officials, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arriving.

It was reported that several kids were seen running from the scene.

Fire investigators are seeking help from the community in locating the kids who were seen running from the scene. If anyone who has information regarding the fire, please call Prince George's County Fire Investigators at (301) 306-5685.
