Woman's death finally ruled a homicide

OXON HILL – It has taken more than two months for the Maryland State Medical Examiner to rule the death of a 37-year-old woman from Washington, D.C. a homicide.

On Nov. 2, detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit were informed that Itimia Gray’s death was the result of a gunshot wound to her upper body.

Just after 9 a.m. on Aug. 15, patrol units from county police department were called to the 5100 block of Deal Drive in the Glassmanor community of Oxon Hill after a person discovered the victim’s body in the woods.

Police say they believe that Gray's body may have been in the woods for several weeks or months before it was discovered.

Gray's homicide is the 72nd homicide of the year in the county.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the homicide unit at 301-772-4925
