Two shot, one killed in Seat Pleasant

SEAT PLEASANT – One person is dead and a second person is in critical condition after they were shot in front of a house in Seat Pleasant.

Patrol units from the Seat Pleasant Town Police Department, along with units from the county fire and police departments, responded to a shooting on Dec. 8, around 12:45 p.m., in the 400 block of 69th Place just off Addison Road.

“Our officers were first on the scene,” said Devan Martin, police chief of the Seat Pleasant Town Police Department. “They found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. They started to perform life saving treatment on one of the victims.”

Both victims were transported to the Prince George's Trauma Center where one of the victims died from his injuries, Martin said.

“This is a very tragic incident,” said Seat Pleasant Mayor Eugene Grant. “Our prayers go out to the families. Our officers will be assisting Prince George's County police in this sad incident.”

Homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department will be investigating the incident and are working to identify a suspect(s) and establish a motive. They also believe the shooting was not a random act.
