TUXEDO - Detectives from Prince George's County Police Department's homicide unit are investigating the fatal shooting of a man on Dec. 28.
Police have identified the victim as 27-year old Armani Coles on 2nd St NW, Washington, DC. He was found dead in the southbound lane of Kenilworth Avenue (I-295) near the ramp to Eastern Avenue. Just before 6:30 p.m. Prince George's and the District of Columbia Emergency 911 Center received numerous calls from a motorist stating a man was unresponsive on the shoulder of the road near the PG/DC borderline.
Upon arrival, police located an adult male in grave condition suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to a trauma center where he died a short time later.
According to police officials, the man had no identification on him, and they believe he might have allegedly been pushed out of a moving vehicle.
Police are urging anyone who was traveling on Kenilworth Avenue
(I-295) at the time of the incident and saw something suspicious are asked to call 1-866-411-TIPS. There will be a reward of up to $25,000 for any information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
