Shooting in Forestville leads to death

JOHNSONFORESTVILLE – Detectives from Prince George's County Police

Department's homicide unit were able to make a quick arrest on a homicide that occurred on Dec. 30th inside a Forestville liquor store.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. units from Prince George's County Fire Department , along with patrol units from the county police department responded to Avenue Liquor store in the 3300 block of Walters Lane for a shooting.

Once on the scene, emergency personnel found an adult male who police have identified as 33-year-old Thomas Corry of Arnold Road in Suitland after suffering a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

A short time later, detectives located 26-year-old Jajuan Johnson of the 2000 block of Marbury Drive in District Heights and charged him with first and second-degree murder and related charges.

Officials on the scene said that Johnson initiated a dispute with Corry inside the store and pulled out a gun shooting Corry as Johnson fled the scene.

Johnson is being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
