SEAT PLEASANT – Prince George's County Police Department's homicide unit is investigating the county's third homicide of the year after a man was shot on Jan. 4 in Seat Pleasant.
Around 3:45 p.m. units from Prince George's County Fire Department along with county police responded to the intersection of Hill Road and Willow Hill Road for a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found an adult male inside a vehicle who police have identified as 30-year-old David Knott Jr. of Kipling Parkway in District Heights suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
He was transported to a nearby trauma center in grave condition, but despite the efforts of doctors, he died the next day.
According to court records, Knott has been arrested several times in Prince George's County for disorderly conduct, drug possession, theft and other charges.
Detectives do not believe this was a random act and are working to identify a suspect (s) and motive in this case.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
