BOWIE – An 11-year-old boy was shot on March 18 inside his home in Bowie.
Just before noon, police and fire/EMS units from Prince George's County responded to the 2100 block of Woodvale Lane of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they found the child suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported the Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C. in serious condition.
"This was not a random incident that took place inside the house," Lt. Manuel Rivera spokesperson for Prince George's County Police said. "Our investigators are investigating the incident," he said.
At the time of the shooting, the victim's mother was not at home, but his 18-year-old brother and his sister were allegedly inside the house at the time of the shooting.
Police are questioning the 18-year-old brother about the incident according to police officials. The 11-year-old was in stable condition on March 19.
