SEAT PLEASANT – Homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department are investigating the county's 11th homicide of the year after a man was allegedly shot and killed on March 19 in Seat Pleasant.
Patrol units from Prince George's County Police Department along with units from the county fire department responded just after 4:00 p.m. to the intersection of Pepper Mill Road and East Mill Avenue for a shooting.
As units were responding to the incident on Pepper Mill Road, Prince George's County 911 received a call for a person shot in the 3800 block of Drylog Street, several blocks away from the first incident.
When units arrived at Pepper Mill Road and East Mill Avenue they were unable to locate a victim and were quickly directed to the incident on Drylog Street.
Upon arrival, they allegedly found a vehicle riddled with multiple bullet holes, and inside the car, they found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a trauma center where he was pronounced dead.
"We believe the shooting took place at Pepper Mill Road and East Mill Avenue and somehow the vehicle made it to Drylog Street," Spokesperson for Prince George's County Police Department Cpl. Harry Bond said. "We are not sure if there was a second person in the car with the victim that will be determined during our investigation," he said.
Detectives believe this was not a random act of crime and are working to identify a motive and suspect (s) in this case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
Due to the fact the shooting took place late in the afternoon in a residential area, police are asking if anyone saw anything or has any more information to call the homicide unit at 301-772-4925.
