Detectives nab suspects of fatal stabbing in February

CAPITOL HEIGHTS – Detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's homicide unit arrested two suspects in connection with a homicide that occurred in Capitol Heights during February.

Detectives arrested 25-year-old Tre Branch and 26-year-old Pierre Queen for the fatal stabbing of Joseph Whack who had no fixed address.

On Feb. 4, at approximately 11:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1300 block of Glacier Avenue in Capitol Heights for a person lying in the street.

When they arrived, police allegedly located Whack suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

During the investigation, detectives allegedly developed Branch and Queen as suspects. The preliminary investigation revealed that Branch and Queen stabbed Whack during a dispute.

Branch and Queen are both charged with first and second-degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
