LANHAM – A 16-year-old teenager was arrested on May 10 for shooting and stabbing 53-year-old Herman Jackson to death in Lanham.
Detectives arrested Taahir Butler after he confessed to shooting and stabbing Jackson after a dispute between the two according to police accounts.
The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. inside a house in the 7000 block of Woodstream Terrace just off of Good Luck Road.
Upon arrival, police and medics quickly determined that Jackson was allegedly shot several times with a BB gun and then stabbed several times. He was transported to a trauma center where he died a short time later.
Detectives determined that Butler was in a relationship with Jackson's mother. They all lived in the same house.
Butler is charged as an adult with first and second-degree murder.
He's in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
