Lewis Malique Nathan Homicide 17 78LANDOVER – Homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department made an arrest in the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Armani Coles, a D.C school employee found shot on Dec. 28th at Kenilworth Avenue near Eastern Avenue at the PG/D.C. border.

Police arrested 20-year-old Malique Lewis from Valley Terrace in Southwest, Washington and charged him with first-degree murder, assault and several additional charges.

Just before 6:30 p.m., police and fire/EMS units from Prince George's County responded to the southbound lane of Kenilworth Avenue just before Eastern Avenue for a person who was unresponsive in the roadway.

When they arrived, emergency personnel discovered Coles suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

When they arrived on the scene, they found Kerrice Lewis inside a burning car dead suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officials also believe Lewis is allegedly connected to the homicide of Ronzay Green who was shot and killed the same day at a 7-Eleven store on Eastern Avenue only a mile from the Kenilworth Avenue incident.

Police say that Coles, Kerrice Lewis, and Green knew each other and grew up in the same part of D.C.

Lewis is in custody at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
