Baden Elementary celebrates 40 years

Baden Elementary School celebrated its 40th anniversary Aug. 28 with a community festival. The Baden Complex includes a health clinic, public library, community center and school. Community members, along with students and staff from Baden Elementary enjoyed pony rides, an antique car show, food, performances and much more.

Bilingual academy offers language classes to parents

The Triumphant Church will be the site of the first bilingual family academy in Prince George’s County to offer classes in English and Spanish for parents of students in the Hyattsville community.

The new family academy will serve students and families from César Chávez, Ridgecrest, Chillum and Rosa Parks elementary schools as well as Nicholas Orem Middle School. Parents will be able to register for parent academy classes, taught one evening in English and another evening in Spanish, along with English as a Second Language classes.
