A man was killed in what Prince George’s County police are calling a "justifiable homicide" Sunday in Hillcrest Heights.
Prince George’s County Police Department patrol units responded just after 12:30 a.m. to the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway for a reported shooting. Responding officers located a man suffering multiple gunshots to his upper body.
Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, PGFD officials said.
In a statement from PGPD spokesperson Cpl. Maria McKinney, the man allegedly approached two people who were sitting in a car and attempted to rob the two individuals with a gun. McKinney said the two occupants of the vehicle are cooperating with detectives. No criminal charges have been placed at this time.
