Just before 7:30 a.m. Monday, Maryland-National Capital Park Police officers and Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department paramedics responded to the 2600 block of Oxon Run Drive for a reported “man down” in the park.
Upon arrival, police officers and paramedics found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
This is the eighth homicide of the year in the county.
Detectives from the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit are working to identify the suspect or suspects and a motive in this case.
