Prince George’s County Police Department arrested and charged a Washington, D.C., man in connection to the October killing of a 23-year-old Prince George’s County man.
After an extensive investigation into the homicide, detectives identified the suspect as Ronald Jefferson Short, 27.
A warrant was served on Short at the Department of Corrections, where he was in custody on an unrelated murder charge. Short has been charged with first-degree murder and related charges for D’lonte Renard Days’ death.
Days was killed Oct. 11 in Palmer Park. When police and fire units responded around 9:30 that night to the 1800 block of Village Green Drive, they found Days inside his home. He had been shot multiple times.
Prince George’s County paramedics had transported Days to a local trauma center where he later died.
Days’ death was the 45th homicide in Prince George’s County in 2012.
Short remains in custody on a no-bond status, police officials said.
