A Fort Washington teen was shot to death Sunday.
Early Sunday morning, Prince George’s County police and fire units responded to the 7700 block of Webster Lane in Fort Washington for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, police officers and paramedics located Marcus Antonio Jones, 16.
Jones appeared to have been shot several times, police said, and he was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation revealed Jones walked to a car after leaving a home on Webster Lane as an unknown suspect shot him and ran away. Detectives are following up on substantial leads and are working to identify a suspect and motive in this case
This was the third homicide in the county so far this year.
On Friday night, patrol units responded around 9: 30 p.m. to the 1600 block of Tulip Avenue near Ritchie Road for a reported person shot. Antonio Delonte Rosswas, 23, was transported to a local trauma center, where he was later pronounced dead from a gunshot to his upper body, according to police.
