Woman injured in Adelphi house fire

A fire just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday destroyed an Adelphi house in the 3100 block of Buck Lodge Road and has displaced two adults and two children.

“When units arrived on the scene they encountered heavy fire conditions on both floors of the two-story house,” said

Mark Brady, spokesman for Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.

It took 50 firefighters about 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

A woman was transported to a local hospital for second-degree burns to her upper body.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Beltsville house fire displaces seven people

Two adults and five children have been displaced after fire damaged their home in the 11400 block of Edmonston Road in Beltsville.

The fire was reported just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2. The fire started outside near the house and extended into the first floor of the two- story dwelling.

Fire crews brought the fire under control within 10 minutes, and no injuries were reported, according to fire officials. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
