The Women for Men Aiming Higher organization held Heartastic, a women’s heart health expo, Saturday at Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex.
Women for Men Aiming Higher joined forces with WomenHeart and the Prince George’s County Commission for Women to host this health expo.
The expo provided awareness and support for cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of death in the United State other than strokes. Strokes are considered the No. 1 killer in Maryland.
Women for Men Aiming Higher also developed a program to address the rising number of obese adults and children in Prince George’s County. It was a day of fitness and fun, and free groceries were distributed to all attendees.
The Men Aiming Higher organization was installed in 2009 and has created the mission to successfully mobilize at-risk young men between the ages of 16 through 29.
