FORESTVILLE – Homicide detectives from Prince George’s County Police Department were able to make a quick arrest in the county’s 16th homicide of 2017.
Just after midnight on March 3, police responded to an apartment complex in the 7200 block of Donnell Place, just off of Pennsylvania Avenue, for a report of a shooting.
When police officers arrived on the scene, they found 26-year-old Thaddeus Tate of Donnell Place inside of an apartment suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body.
Detectives later arrested a neighbor of Tate, 42-year-old Delante Sellers Mason, who fled the scene following the shooting. He was located far from the scene, said police officials.
According to police, Mason and Tate were involved in a dispute prior to the shooting.
Detectives charged Mason with first and second-degree murder. He is in the custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
